As the Senate looks to move forward with a multi-billion dollar package to incentivize the semiconductor industry in the U.S., ABC remains concerned over a provision in the bill that would expand Davis-Bacon requirements into the private sector. In a letter to U.S. Senators and Representatives, ABC highlighted these concerns and urged the provisions removal before final passage of the legislation, which could occur over the next week.

The Senate did vote 64-34 to advance the bill, clearing a procedural hurdle as Congress works to finalize the bill’s language this week. ABC had opposed detrimental labor provisions included in previous versions of the bill in the House and Senate, but with the scaled back proposal thankfully the remaining aggressive labor policies will not be included in the bill.
