It’s easy to get caught up and overwhelmed by the complexities of a safety program, whether it is because of implementation across teams, too many systems or decentralization across departments. And it can cost you precious time and resources. But safety doesn’t have to be this hard.

Joe Xavier is senior director of health and safety for ABC National. Xavier has served in leadership, quality, health, safety and compliance roles since 1992. Most recently, Xavier was the CEO of Summit Sustainability Solutions, advising construction, manufacturing and hospitality clients in the mid-Atlantic region on risk control and prevention. His company was a member of ABC of Greater Baltimore and facilitated the chapter’s Safety Professional Peer Group.

Shane Morrow joined IES Commercial & Industrial in April 2018 as division safety director. He has over 25 years of commercial construction experience with large general contractors, and more than 20 of those years Morrow has worked in the field of safety leadership. His market experience includes heavy civil, hospitality, federal, health care, private sector, condominium, office building, mixed-use facility and aviation projects.

Jade Brainard is product director for KPA EHS software solutions. She has been working with KPA products for over 14 years with a focus of providing turnkey safety management software solutions for KPA customers. Brainard works closely with many types of organizations, including construction, energy, manufacturing and insurance to understand how technology can be leveraged to effectively manage safety, reduce risk and stay compliant with an ever-evolving regulatory environment.
