We are committed to promoting safety in the workplace through development and promotion of comprehensive classes, seminars, and workshops designed to increase awareness of current and continuous safety issues.
The ABC Safety Committee is a driving force in the development of new programs. It is through this committee’s persistence and allegiance to safety in the workplace that the Central Ohio Chapter has renewed the 2008-2009 partnership with the Columbus-area OSHA office, known as the ABC/OSHA Partnership for Construction Safety. Companies that have qualified for the Partnership Program are known for their top-notch safety programs.
The ABC Central Ohio Partnership was originally signed in 2002 and renewed in 2004 and 2007. This Partnership was formed to achieve a reduction in injuries, illnesses and fatalities in the construction industry through means of open communication, promoting recognition for construction safety excellence, and sharing knowledge of the best industry technology, innovations and work practices that improve safety and health performance.
The reduction in the injury and illness data over the course of the agreement demonstrates the success of the Partnership, which is featured as a Success Story here on the U.S. Dept. of Labor's Occupational Safety & Health Aministration's website.
